Mass: -the quantity of matter as determined from its weight or from Newton's second law of motion

Volume: -the amount of space occupied by a three-dimensional object or region of space

Mass and volume are connected with density. Like this:

density = mass/volume

We can find the mass of an object using a balance and obtain its volume by calculation or water displacement. In the diagram, the volume of water displaced equals to the volume of the egg, that is 70 cm3.
